WOM April Mission Action: Dolly Parton Imagination Library
Children’s Literacy Matters: Join Women on Mission to Give to a Great Cause!

Women on Mission invites the entire congregation of FBC to join our focus on enhancing children’s literacy during April. We are partnering with United Way and Smart Beginnings Early Childhood Development program to sponsor registered children to receive an age- and developmentally- appropriate book every month from birth to 5 years of age.

The books are free from Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, but a donation of $27.00 is needed to sponsor a child to cover postage and shipping for the books to be mailed directly to each child’s home every month.

There are approximately 1,700 children in Martinsville and Henry County currently enrolled in the Imagination Library program. Early exposure to appropriate books being read to children has been proven to provide an essential foundation for school readiness and success.

Please make your check out or give online to First Baptist Church and designate “D.P. Imagination Library” in the memo.
