Rev. Dr. Libby Grammer will preach a sermon entitled, “Sent and Welcomed”
In our Gospel lesson for this week, Jesus tells the disciples that they are being sent to tell the Good News of Jesus’s life, death, and resurrection. But, he says, it won’t always be a welcome story that’s received well. Sometimes, though, they will be welcomed with great hospitality: those who offer even a cup of cold water to these disciples will receive a blessing from God. I wonder what this text might mean for us as we learn how to best be on mission in the world, outside of our church building’s walls, where our faith won’t always be welcomed, where we might even find resistance to it. I also wonder what it means for us as we open our doors to those who are only just learning about Christianity, who want to share in faith with us – and might even have something new to teach us about faith. Will we offer the kind of hospitality Jesus expects of us?

Giving of our Resources
Please continue to give generously to the ministries of our church, even as we cannot meet in person each week. You can give online here or mail / drop off your tithes and offerings to the church office. Your gifts help us to continue to offer ministry to our church members through virtual church services, Bible studies, ministry to the community, and more.
We are in the midst of new missions opportunities during this season of pandemic. We want to serve our neighbors, and to do that, we need your generous giving. Click here to see what we’re up to, and make a special donation to our Missions Opportunity fund by designating your online gift or mailed check in the memo line.
