Sermon Series: August 23–October 18,2020

For the next few weeks, we will explore the Exodus narratives together, experiencing anew together the liberating story of a liberating God. Come and join us on this journey with the Hebrews out of Egypt!

Rev. Dr. Libby Grammer will preach a sermon entitled, “Belonging Together”

On World Communion Sunday, we remember that we are not alone in our walk with God. We set aside time regularly to partake in a meal of remembrance, just like all our Christian brothers and sisters around the world. We are God’s people because Christ has provided a path for us to enter into the fold of God. As we read through our Exodus passage this week, a familiar passage – the Ten Commandments – we remember that God’s people are called to live differently, love fiercely, and to ask forgiveness when we’ve wronged God or one another. By keeping God’s commandments, we learn how to belong to God, how to belong together. And by remembering Christ’s teachings, his life, death, and resurrection, we remember just how much grace we’ve been given to bear those responsibilities.

Giving of our Resources

Please continue to give generously to the ministries of our church, even as we cannot meet in person each week. You can give online here or mail / drop off your tithes and offerings to the church office. Your gifts help us to continue to minister through virtual church services, Bible studies, ministry to the community, and more.

Thank you for providing for the mission and ministry of First Baptist Church!
