Virtual Learning Fall 2020

Virtual Learning Fall 2020

Schools are Part- or All-Virtual this Fall. We can help.

The local school systems have released their fall schedule with COVID-19 changes. Parents are understandably concerned about how to juggle their child’s new school day changes with virtual and in-person staggered learning or all virtual learning. FBC ELC has been hard at work making plans to help create space for children affected by these changes.

We are renovating a second room for school-age virtual learning, upgrading our internet system to compensate for the new demands on the WiFi, hiring the necessary personnel to care for and help kids with homework, scheduling bus drop offs and pickups, coordinating after school care on non-virtual days, and preparing for a very different school year for kids age kindergarten to 5th grade.

Beginning August 10, 2020, we will offer new options for school age children to attend our program full- or part-time:

Option 1 – Staggered Day Virtual Learners, $80 per week

Children who are attending school in a hybrid manner – 2 days in-person, 3 days virtual. On virtual days, children can be dropped off at the center for full-day care (6:30 AM to 5:30 PM) and will be provided needed space and internet connectivity to complete their assignments, with teachers available to help them with their work. They will also be offered fun activities during the day, including play, music, and chapel time. All children will be given lunch, and if needed breakfast can be dropped off with the children. On their in-person school days, children are invited to be present for before- or after-school activities at the center, including where possible, catching the bus or being dropped off by the bus at the church, where the children will be accompanied by a teacher at drop off and pick up.

Option 2 – Full-Time Virtual Learners, $100 per week

Children who are attending school full-time online with no in-person attendance. Monday-Friday children can be dropped off at the center for full-day care (6:30 AM to 5:30 PM) and will be provided needed space and internet connectivity to complete their assignments, with teachers available to help them with their work. They will also be offered fun activities during the day, including play, music, and chapel time. All children will be given lunch, and if needed breakfast can be dropped off with the children.

Option 3 – Fridays Only Virtual Learners, $25 per week

Children who are attending 4 days per week (up through 2nd grade) and are doing virtual learning on Fridays only. On Fridays, children can be dropped off at the center for full-day care (6:30 AM to 5:30 PM) and will be provided needed space and internet connectivity to complete their assignments, with teachers available to help them with their work. They will also be offered fun activities during the day, including play, music, and chapel time. All children will be given lunch, and if needed breakfast can be dropped off with the children.
