Interim Pastor
I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in history from Southwestern Oklahoma State University and then completed a Master of Arts in Religious Education a few years later at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.
I have served as an associate pastor in five churches either in Georgia or North Carolina. Since moving to Virginia in 2014, I have been an interim pastor in three other Virginia churches.
Over the years I have been involved with the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship of North Carolina and the Baptist General Association of Virginia. I also facilitated regional training for the North Carolina Baptist Convention for 20 years. For over 12 years I taught as a Humanities adjunct professor at a North Carolina community college as well.
In 2010 I formed the Barnabas Partnership – www.barnabaspartnership.com. These experienced ministers provide short-term ministry support to churches. They have ministered to various size Southern churches.
When I am not ministering, I enjoy meeting new people, working outside in my Martinsville home, walking the neighborhood, taking family day trips, reading a good book (preferably historical or historical fiction), watching movies, and rooting for my Oklahoma Sooners!
Angela, my wife, is the pastor at Starling Avenue Baptist Church in Martinsville. We have twin daughters. Kimberly is a high school orchestra teacher in North Carolina while her sister, Karen, is a Cooperative Baptist Fellowship field personnel minister.
