Rev. Dr. Libby Grammer will preach a sermon entitled, “Seeing Beyond the Obvious”
There are saints in our lives who show/showed us the presence of God. Revelation tells us that God’s home is not far away, but near to us, and often we experience God’s presence through the presences of the saints in our lives. These saints see, or saw, in their lives that God was at work, even when life around them looked bleak. And it’s their faith, their vision, that inspires us to see differently, too. Thanks be to God for All the Saints!
Today is All Saints’ Sunday in the Christian year. All Saints’ Day, November 1, is also known as All Hallows’ Day; its eve gave us the term “Halloween.” We celebrate All Saints’ Day in worship on the first Sunday in November, memorializing the saintly status of all Christian people, especially those we have lost from our own church family in the last year. The liturgical color is white, signifying that it is Christ who lives in the saints.
Giving of our Resources
Please continue to give generously to the ministries of our church in 2021, whether in-person or online here – or mail / drop off your tithes and offerings to the church office. Your gifts help us to continue to minister through in-person and virtual church services, Bible studies, ministry to the community, and more.
Thank you for providing for the mission and ministry of First Baptist Church!
