Like the disciples staring at the sky after Jesus’s ascension to heaven, we stand at a precipice, too. And we are reminded, as they were, that we move forward with the Holy Spirit. God is not gone, but among us, pressing us onward together.
Today is Ascension Sunday. This Sunday commemorates the bodily ascension of Jesus into heaven. We celebrate Jesus’ ascension on the last Sunday of Eastertide. The liturgical color is white, symbolizing light, victory, and eternal life.
