Back2School 2026: Volunteers Needed!
Each school year, First Baptist joins with churches and organizations all over the region to provide backpacks, school supplies, and new shoes and socks to children. This year will be the 20th year, and it promises to be the best! This event in the last 20 years has served more than 44,000 kids in communities collectively serving VA, NC and beyond! This year the City Cluster is planning a goal of sponsoring 200 kids. Last year, we served 150 that were registered, but we were able to serve about 10 more walk-ins so a goal of 200 is definitely feasible.
July 5th is Back2School Sunday. Wear your back2School T-shirt to church to promote the event!

This year it will be held at the Uptown Ministry Center located at 145 E. Main Street and volunteers are needed for:
- Registration #1: Saturday, July 11th, 12:00 p.m.to 3:00 p.m.-Uptown Ministry Center-register the names.
- Registration #2: Tuesday, July 21st, 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.-Uptown Ministry Center-register the names.
- Filling Backpacks: Tuesday, August 4th, 6:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m.-Commerce Court, Martinsville
- Ministry Center Setup for the Big Event: Wednesday, August 5th, 5:00 p.m.
- The Big Event: Saturday, August 8th Uptown Ministry Center
