Have a little time on your hands?

Read Finding Anna by Christine Schaub (a large print book)

This moving novel, based on the events that inspired Gates Spafford’s beloved hymn “It is Well With My Soul”, is a love story between a man, a woman, their children and God…and is a story that happens to be true.

In 1871 as flames engulfed the city of Chicago, attorney Gates Spafford is stunned by the destruction, but so relieved his family was spared that he opens his home to help those who lost everything.  His wife Anna, however, is scared by the tragedy.  Although she needs his help, Gates’ mission draws him away from his family and threatens to drive them apart.  In an attempt to save their marriage, Gates decides to take his family to Europe. The ship is struck and sinks and the couple endures a devastating loss that will change their lives forever.  Is faith in God and love powerful enough to bring them through the greatest tragedy of their lives?
