Rev. Dr. Libby Grammer will preach a sermon entitled, “Did You Notice the King?”
The King of Everything, the Messiah, Jesus the Christ…do you know how easy it is to miss him? It’s because he comes among us as the hungry, the thirsty, the stranger, the sick, and the imprisoned. On Christ the King Sunday, may we not miss the One who showed us compassion and asks us to do the same for others. And may we give thanks for the kind of King we worship and serve!
Today is Christ the King/Reign of Christ Sunday, the final Sunday of the season after Pentecost and the liturgical church year, which begins anew with the first Sunday of Advent next week. The focus of today’s worship is God’s ultimate victory and reign through Jesus Christ, punctuated by Christ’s unique approach to kingship, in service and love of God and others. The liturgical color is white, symbolizing the purity and light of Christ.
Giving of our Resources
Please continue to give generously to the ministries of our church in 2023, whether in-person or online here – or mail / drop off your tithes and offerings to the church office. Your gifts help us to continue to minister through in-person and virtual church services, Bible studies, ministry to the community, and more.
Thank you for providing for the mission and ministry of First Baptist Church!
