Scripture includes: Psalm 111

Rev. Dr. Libby Grammer will preach a sermon entitled, “Epiphany about God: God is Faithful”

We sing hallelujah, we praise our God – but why? Our psalmist describes for us a God who is faithful, whose transcendence and nearness collide in promised faithfulness to God’s people. We cannot fully understand God – we simply sit in awe. But we can experience God through faithful hope given to us in our lives.

Today is the Fourth Sunday After Epiphany in the Christian year. Epiphany (January 6) celebrates the manifestation of God in Jesus Christ. The Season of Epiphany continues this emphasis, calling attention to the words and deeds of Jesus’ earthly ministry. The liturgical color for the season is green, representing new life and growth.

This year, during the season of Epiphany, we will seek to know God better through a sermon series called “Epiphanies about God,” reading from the Psalms each week. We are asking questions and seek answers with the psalmists about who God is, how God works, and how we might encounter God in our own lives.

Giving of our Resources

Please continue to give generously to the ministries of our church in 2024, whether in-person or online here – or mail / drop off your tithes and offerings to the church office. Your gifts help us to continue to minister through in-person and virtual church services, Bible studies, ministry to the community, and more.

Thank you for providing for the mission and ministry of First Baptist Church!
