Join us as the combined choirs of Chatham Heights Baptist and First Baptist Church of Martinsville present “A Celebration of Carols” by Joseph M. Martin.

This year’s cantata is based on the traditional “Lessons and Carols” service. Filled to overflowing with beloved carols and original seasonal songs, this cantata tells the story of Christ’s birth adorned with beautiful arrangements and meaningful Scriptures. Titles include: A Christmas OvertureO Come, All Ye FaithfulA Prayer for AdventPeople of Promise, Arise!; Song of Hope and JoyO Little Town of BethlehemMy Soul Doth Magnify the LordLullabies of BethlehemAngels We Have Heard on High; Carols for SeekersLet Christmas BeginA Christmas Trilogy.

Today is the Fourth Sunday of Advent, the inaugural season of the Christian year. Advent is a time of spiritual preparation for the coming of Christ; thus, it is a season of both joyous and solemn expectation. The liturgical color is purple, symbolic of a spirit of preparation.

Advent Candle of Love Lighting – Music Ministry

We light the Advent candle of Love, recognizing the gift of the Christ child, by which we know the joy of being loved by our God.

Giving of our Resources

Please continue to give generously to the ministries of our church in 2022, whether in-person or online here – or mail / drop off your tithes and offerings to the church office. Your gifts help us to continue to minister through in-person and virtual church services, Bible studies, ministry to the community, and more.

Thank you for providing for the mission and ministry of First Baptist Church!
