Grace Network Needs Volunteers!

Grace Network Needs Volunteers!
What is Grace Network?
Grace Network is a faith-based, first-stop center for resources for families in crisis in Martinsville and Henry County. Supported by more than one hundred congregations (including ours!), hundreds of individuals, civic groups, corporations, and foundations, Grace Network is where people at risk for homelessness or facing a crisis involving essential life needs can find help and a listening ear. Grace Network is here to help our neighbors in need keep a roof over their heads, their homes warm and lighted, and food on the table. Grace Network strives to give short-term assistance and to help find long-term solutions. The Mission statement is “Short Term Support for Long-Term Solutions.”

To be a volunteer at Grace, you simply need to have the heart to help people and the desire to share the Love of Christ. Grace Network helps families and individuals that are at risk of being evicted, having their utilities cutoff or because of a crisis, they cannot feed their family.

As a potential volunteer, you will go through a one-hour orientation to learn what and how we serve. Then you will be asked to serve what we call your “Day of Grace” where you will spend a day of your choosing observing the process from each volunteer position. We will determine your gifts and where you will feel comfortable serving and then you will receive on the job training until you are ready for the permanent schedule. We work around your schedule along with matching it to our needs. It’s a fun place to volunteer and you will be helping to bring joy and comfort and peace to those that are struggling and going through a bump in the road in their lives.

But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore, I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. – 2 Corinthians 12:9
