On May 4, 2020, our Personnel Committee unanimously voted to hire Kaylee White as our new Financial Secretary. Kaylee will start working with us on Monday, May 11, 2020. She will be training with our current Financial Secretary, Renee Fulcher, until Renee’s departure on June 12th. She will be learning all of our church and ELC accounting software and processes/procedures so that she can assume Renee’s responsibilities on her own in a few weeks.
Kaylee, her husband Austin, and her 19-month-old daughter Adalyn, moved down to Martinsville from Upstate NY in November of 2019. Kaylee has been married to Austin for almost 4 years now, and in addition to their young daughter, they have a dog named Sara, an Akita Shepard. Their family enjoys spending time outdoors, and they are so happy to now call Martinsville their home. Adalyn will be joining our ELC’s toddler class on Kaylee’s first day with us.
Austin and Kaylee are the owners of A&K Treasures, an antique shop in Uptown Martinsville. Kaylee does the books for the shop, and she has experience working in a front office of a school, where she was responsible for assisting the principal and counselors with everything from word processing to budget requests. She has extensive computer and communication experience. She graduated high honor roll at her High School and was on the Dean’s list for her Associate’s degree in Business Administration. Kaylee also has volunteered 1,000+ hours with a local nursing home, caring for and being present with the residents in the center.
Kaylee’s interviews thoroughly impressed the entire personnel committee, and we have full confidence that she will excel in her new role. Some of her prior employers have said of her:
