Rev. Dr. Libby Grammer will preach a sermon entitled, “A Long Walk”
The Road to Emmaus is a familiar resurrection story in our scripture, one we are inspired by as we learn about hospitality and community. The road was also long – literally, it was probably about 7 miles. Walking just a couple of miles might take us an hour – this walk was hours and hours long. It was a walk that began in melancholy and loss, one that continued in disbelief and concern, one that had moments of inspiration from a stranger, and one that ends in a communion meal that opens eyes anew to Jesus’s presence. We’re also on a long walk, one that is sometimes despairing and worrying, but perhaps unbeknownst to us there’s a stranger in our midst, opening our eyes.
Giving of our Resources
Please continue to give generously to the ministries of our church, even as we cannot meet in person each week. You can give online here or mail your tithes and offerings to the church office. Your gifts help us to continue to offer ministry to our church members through virtual church services, Bible studies, ministry to the community, and more.
Also – don’t forget that this is our last week to give to the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship Offering for Global Missions! Pray & Give – our goal as a church is $2,000. We hope to continue to exceed our gifts for CBF’s good work!
