Join Us for a Service of Worship and Communion

Sunday, October 6, 2019 11:00 AM
Seventeenth Sunday after Pentecost
World Communion Sunday

Scriptures include: Psalm 37:1-9, 2 Timothy 1:1-14

Rev. Dr. Libby Grammer will preach a sermon entitled “The Treasure of Faith”

On World Communion Sunday, the words in this Second Letter to Timothy are deeply meaningful, especially as the Church universal seeks to find its place in this new century of witness. Christians have gathered in many places and times, sharing communion with one another and being a part of God’s universal family. We, like Timothy, are looking for ways to remember why our faith is important to us, and we are trying to find ways to share that with our peers and the next generation, like it was once shared with us. Of course, how we “do” faith changes as often as the world turns, and we have the responsibility to keep a spirit of courage, power, and love as we embark on a path that may lead us to teach the faith in new and innovative ways in these months and years to come. Won’t you join us for a celebration of the diversity of Christianity as we partake in World Communion Sunday and consider our part in continuing to share this legacy and treasure of faith?
