Scripture includes: Ephesians 4:1-16

Rev. Dr. Libby Grammer will preach a sermon entitled, “Unity, not Uniformity

The Body of Christ, the church, should be so countercultural that the whims of this world’s chaos and division don’t rule our relationships. Instead, we’re called to a kind of unity that requires much of us – humility, gentleness, patience. And we’re called to celebrate the diversity among us. How can we sync this harmony in our own church, appreciating one another in new ways? How can we grow in faith together and not grow apart?

This is the season after Pentecost in the Christian year. Having celebrated the “birthday of the church” through the giving of the Holy Spirit on the Day of Pentecost, we enter the Season after Pentecost for 24 weeks, to celebrate the existence of the church and recall her mission in the world. The liturgical color for the season is green, symbolic of the church’s growth and mission. On the first Sunday of the month, we celebrate communion, and the liturgical colors change to white to symbolize the purity and light of Christ.

Giving of our Resources

Please continue to give generously to the ministries of our church in 2021, whether in-person or online here – or mail / drop off your tithes and offerings to the church office. Your gifts help us to continue to minister through in-person and virtual church services, Bible studies, ministry to the community, and more.

Thank you for providing for the mission and ministry of First Baptist Church!
