Scripture includes: Psalm 62:5-12
Rev. Dr. Libby Grammer will preach a sermon entitled, “Epiphany about God: God is Refuge and Fortress”
We learn from our Psalmist this week that God is our refuge when everything else in this world lets us down. God is our place of safety and hope, a place of assuredness we cannot fabricate in our own lives. May we explore how that knowledge of God’s steadfastness can transform how we live our daily lives.
Today is the Third Sunday After Epiphany in the Christian year. Epiphany (January 6) celebrates the manifestation of God in Jesus Christ. The Season of Epiphany continues this emphasis, calling attention to the words and deeds of Jesus’ earthly ministry. The liturgical color for the season is green, representing new life and growth.
This year, during the season of Epiphany, we will seek to know God better through a sermon series called “Epiphanies about God,” reading from the Psalms each week. We’ll ask questions and seek answers with the psalmists about who God is, how God works, and how we might encounter God in our own lives.
