Rev. Dr. Libby Grammer will preach a sermon entitled, “Deep Darkness”
Many Christians don’t want to talk about it, but no matter how pious we may be, we will face seasons of deep darkness in our lives. I’m not talking about the occasional sadness, but those weeks or months or years where we confront crippling depression, grief, or despair. Perhaps you’re in such a season; I have been. Perhaps you know someone in such a season. Gratefully, our scriptures speak directly to the kind of deep darkness humanity faces, and offers us light and strength to live through it.
Today is the Third Sunday After Epiphany in the Christian year. Epiphany (January 6) celebrates the manifestation of God in Jesus Christ. The Season of Epiphany continues this emphasis, calling attention to the words and deeds of Jesus’ earthly ministry. The liturgical color for the season is green, representing new life and growth.
Giving of our Resources
Please continue to give generously to the ministries of our church in 2023, whether in-person or online here – or mail / drop off your tithes and offerings to the church office. Your gifts help us to continue to minister through in-person and virtual church services, Bible studies, ministry to the community, and more.
Thank you for providing for the mission and ministry of First Baptist Church!
