Rev. Dr. Libby Grammer will preach a sermon entitled, “Memory Lane”
The story of the walk on the road to Emmaus post-resurrection is one filled with memory. To begin, it’s horrible memories of the death of a beloved rabbi and friend. Then, the walk takes a turn as a stranger joins in on the conversation. From there, this “walk down memory lane” finds itself in an encounter with a living Messiah, recognized not for teachings, but in the sharing of a meal.
Today is the Third Sunday of Easter. Easter Sunday was the beginning of the season of Eastertide in the liturgical year. Eastertide is celebrated from Easter Sunday for fifty days, until the day of Pentecost, and focuses on the meaning of Christ’s resurrection. The liturgical color is white, symbolizing light, victory, and eternal life.
Giving of our Resources
Please continue to give generously to the ministries of our church in 2023, whether in-person or online here – or mail / drop off your tithes and offerings to the church office. Your gifts help us to continue to minister through in-person and virtual church services, Bible studies, ministry to the community, and more.
Thank you for providing for the mission and ministry of First Baptist Church!
