Rev. Dr. Libby Grammer will preach a sermon entitled, “Epiphany about God: God is Brilliant and Present”
A powerful moment of revelation can happen in the presence of God and we can be transformed by it. That moment may be different for each of us. Let us seek that transformation together in worship.
Today is the Last Sunday After Epiphany—known as Transfiguration Sunday. The Season of Epiphany calls attention to the words and deeds of Jesus’ earthly ministry by which his divine sonship is made manifest. This last Sunday is the Transfiguration of the Lord, in which Christ’s divine sonship is reaffirmed. The liturgical color for today is white, recalling Jesus’ appearance in glorious splendor.
This year, during the season of Epiphany, we will seek to know God better through a sermon series called “Epiphanies about God,” reading from the Psalms each week. We are asking questions and seek answers with the psalmists about who God is, how God works, and how we might encounter God in our own lives.
