Scripture includes: Philippians 4:1-9
Rev. Dr. Libby Grammer will preach a sermon entitled, “A Joyous Outcome”
While living in community is not always a simple or easy task, when we seek to live in the presence of the risen Christ, the outcome is joy, and that joy is always most complete when shared together. And joy flows outward from the disciplines of gentleness, prayer, and peace. With Paul and the Philippian church, can we keep on doing these beautiful things and rejoice today?
This is the season after Pentecost in the Christian year. Having celebrated the “birthday of the church” through the giving of the Holy Spirit on the Day of Pentecost, we enter the Season after Pentecost for 24 weeks, to celebrate the existence of the church and recall her mission in the world. The liturgical color for the season is green, symbolic of the church’s growth and mission.
Parent-Child-Church Dedication
During worship, we as a congregation will bear witness to the dedication of Helen Stone Heffinger and Samuel Hutchinson “Hutch” Heffinger to God by their family. Helen and Samuel are the children of Ainsley and Sam Heffinger, grandchildren of Mary Lewis and Dean Johnston, and great-grandchildren of Sue Lester and the late Jack Lester.
Giving of our Resources
Please continue to give generously to the ministries of our church in 2023, whether in-person or online here – or mail / drop off your tithes and offerings to the church office. Your gifts help us to continue to minister through in-person and virtual church services, Bible studies, ministry to the community, and more.
Thank you for providing for the mission and ministry of First Baptist Church!
