Rev. Dr. Libby Grammer will preach a sermon entitled, “Give Like Jesus”

God gave us grace generously when Jesus came to earth to live among us with so little, to teach us even when we wouldn’t listen, and to ultimately sacrifice his very life to save our own. So when Pastor Paul speaks with the Corinthian church about what it means to give to those in need as a ministry of their church, he provides that gracious gift of Jesus Christ as our cornerstone example: “For you know the generous act of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, so that by his poverty you might become rich.” He reminds them – and us – that giving should be done eagerly, in thanksgiving to God; and generously, for our neighbors. As we commit our generosity this coming year, can we reach this kind of giving – of giving like Jesus? Eager, committed, abundant?

Today is Commitment Sunday at First Baptist Church. During the service, in addition to blessing our tithes and offerings, our church family prayerfully presents their financial pledges to God and the ministries of this church for the coming year. (If you haven’t had a chance to mail yours in yet, please make your heart dedication today and mail your pledge card this week to the church office). See our 2022 Ministry Plan and download your pledge card by Clicking Here.

Giving of our Resources

Please continue to give generously to the ministries of our church in 2021, whether in-person or online here – or mail / drop off your tithes and offerings to the church office. Your gifts help us to continue to minister through in-person and virtual church services, Bible studies, ministry to the community, and more.

Thank you for providing for the mission and ministry of First Baptist Church!
